North Broward Preparatory School (NBPS) is now accepting applications from qualified candidates for the position of Theatre Teacher to begin in the 2021-2022 academic school year.    

The Theatre Program is an essential part of our curricula, school culture, and plays a critical role in our students' academic growth.  The ideal candidate is a skillful collaborator, innovative artist, and passionate educator who has experience directing a variety of theatre arts productions and preparing students for acceptance into top college theatre and musical theatre programs.  Candidates with expertise in Musical Theatre are preferred.  

The Theatre Teacher is responsible for teaching theatre and musical theatre classes, fostering a positive performing arts community, and directing after school productions. This position works collaboratively with the Theatre Department Coordinator, Fine Arts faculty and staff, and reports to the Director of Fine Arts.

  • After school, evening or weekend hours will be necessary 

  • Contribution to the life of the school outside the classroom is expected  


  • A Bachelor's Degree in Theatre Education (Master's Degree preferred) 

  • Professional performing and teaching experience 

  • Experience working with 6th-12th grade theatre students
