About the Role
The VCA Theatre program is nationally recognised and has a long-established national reputation of intensive training for emerging theatre artists, including actors, directors and dramaturgs, and emphasises artistic development within a highly collaborative environment. We are seeking an outstanding and well-respected theatre professional and experienced academic with the vision and capacity to shape and build the teaching, learning and research within VCA Theatre.
You will have a doctoral qualification (or equivalent experience) combined with significant teaching experience in higher education. You will have the capacity and vision to train and prepare actors for professional engagements in Theatre, Film and Broadcast Media and Theatre-making. You will be able to lead people. Interpersonal skills and the ability to contribute to the strategic development of the Theatre program is essential.
Based in the beautiful Southbank Campus of The University of Melbourne, you will work nestled amongst Melbourne’s major arts and cultural organisations and venues. You will have the convenience of great transport links to the rest of the city with the serenity of the Botanical Gardens close by.
